Classic Eyes<China Doll. Nearly all of the versions from 73' are great, but this is one of the best.

Dire Wolf

Fillmore East

Americana at its finest. Slow, mellow, rewarding, clean, polished, and homey. One of my favorites.

A case could be made for this being the finest version ever.

Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower
Oct. 9, 1976
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Stadium

This version is known for the unique and rewarding detour from the usual Help>Slip>Franklins configuration to the Help>Slipknot>Drums>Samson>Slipknot> Franklins setup. Samson is typically not one of my favorite songs, but they really tear this version up, and it works, albeit surprisingly. The real treat here, however, comes in the form of the transition out of the Samson into the Slipknot, its smooth and super unexpected. The Slipknot is an intricate complex and looping rendition which certainly helps solidify this whole suites contention. But, what appears to me the highlight of the entire thing is the Franklins, which is just absolutely smokin', I believe it is voted #1 on the Franklin's Tower individual page.

Garces, yeah I see that now, but they all deserve to be on here anyway, so I guess the statement still makes sense. Great show all around.
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
Oct. 14, 1977
Hofheinz Pavilion

Fall 77' was in my opinion nearly on par with the spring. Excellent performances throughout the whole tour. However, the season seems to be underrated unfortunately, and some great shows have been pulled from the archive because of the Road Trips release. This Half Step is powerful and contains a huge bridge jam, which is the portion of the song in which I judge the harshest, and listen the closest to.
Black Peter

Louisiana State U

Dark and full of shadowy undertones. Slow meandering, and stomping, rhythmic, and bouncing. Sweeping and capturing. The imagery is vivid and powerful, deserves consideration for top 10.
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo

Holleder Memorial Stadium

Outstanding Half-Step, needs votes now.
