I had forgotten how much I love this show! From BEW to the end this show provides some exemplary playing. This BEW is butter, clean as a whistle.

Very, very tight version. Weir goes crazy, and screams. Really good rendition, in a hot show.

Garcia gives it his all. Rippin' solos, and clear concise leads. Voice is a little rough, but he manages to hit pretty high levels of insanity.

Strong Jerry solo.

Clicks, everything, guitar, bass, drums, piano. Also, not to forget, Garcia's solo reaches a pretty nice peak. All, in all perfect way to set off this show.

This is worth every second it takes to listen. Bridge jam is as powerful as they come, can hold with the likes 9/3 and 11/6

Grendel, I agree with the points you made, this 5-25-77 mosque version is way overrated, and those other versions you point out certainly point to certain songs having the benefit of the date they were played on, and other factors such as-- the "first time played" so on and so forth. These versions you've mentioned-- and I agree-- are not disputed as being great versions, but they are not the best. In this case, however with this Estimated there is no case to be made, where this mosque version can be considered the best. This 12/26/79 version is better, and thats by a long-shot. However, the thing is, there are many more examples of this. We need to up-vote more Estimated Prophets just to get this Mosque out of there. Its misguiding and a complete wrong assessment of the song's top versions.
