Cream of the crop, top shelf Scarlet<Fire. Easy to tell Garcia is in the zone. Lucid, flowing, and fabulous version.

Classic Eyes<China Doll. Nearly all of the versions from 73' are great, but this is one of the best.

Americana at its finest. Slow, mellow, rewarding, clean, polished, and homey. One of my favorites.

A case could be made for this being the finest version ever.

Melodically intricate and captivating. Totally worth a listen for anybody inclined to sit down and really appreciate what's going on. Almost sounds like a jazz composition if you let the sounds blend together. Really good version.

One of the best versions my ears have heard.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

Grendel, thanks for pointing this one out. Really great stuff. The intro to Fire as was mentioned is indeed superb. The whole Fire for that matter is superb, and not to forget the Scarlet, a very good rendition. In all seriousness this version is massively underrated and deserves many more votes, for real.

Starts out sounding like Jerry is a little fatigued. However, he picks up the pace once delivering the solo, and the solo is good, both of them. The concluding minutes of the song are also played well. All in all I agree with your above comment, and this version is worth an upvote.
