St. Stephen

Dark Star < St. Stephen < The eleven. A ridiculously good seamlessly flowing jam segment. The Stephen is fast paced and ferocious.

Bobby screams the lyrics, and Jerry picks to perfection. A hot and energetic version.

It Must Have Been The Roses

Soulful and emotive rendition, maybe the best double opener of the year, with close competiiton with the 7/15 opener of Dancin'>Bird Song.
Feel Like A Stranger

October 84 was smokin'. Powerful opener here, with everyone on the same page, great exploration of the depths of this song. Feel like a Stranger is definitely one of the better opening songs in the Grateful Dead's repertoire. This version is as close to perfect as your going to find this fall tour, besides maybe 10/18 which is nearly just as intense.

Really great version here, jazzy and thoughtful.

Cgarces, I agree, there were some great moments in the 90's. But as a whole I cant see the era stacking up to the others, there were definitely some outstanding highlights. The Morning Dew and S>F you cited are both some of the best versions of those songs, and spring and fall 1990 were both awesome tours. However, consistency wise the whole era just doesn't do it for me. There are too many performances where the sound is just not appealing IMHO. Peace.

Generally I am not a fan of 90's material, but this Estimated is just out of this world, also to add there is an awesome transition into he's gone, the deep space they were exploring in that Estimated, balanced perfectly the mellow and cool vibes of he's gone. My personal favorite version of the 90's.
