Listened to this one again yesterday and need to double down on my previous comment. This is about as pedestrian as the Dead can get without sinking to 1994-95 levels of 'terribleness.' At no point did I feel the spice or energy that color the best "S-F."'s. Jerry's awake enough to sound competent, but he never gets adventurous.
Even we're measuring this against solely post-Brent versions, every 1991 version with Hornsby kicks this one's ass (9/4/91 is a fire breather), to say nothing of 10/14/94 of course.
