The Other One
Nov. 8, 1969
Fillmore West
The fisrts Dark Star is great and by the end of it the band is clearly building up steam, but is on this song that things start getting really interesting. Phil is clearly the MVP here. The whole hour and a half suite is definitely my favourite moment of the Grateful Dead.
The Other One
Nov. 8, 1969
Fillmore West
In 69 The Other One was usually played as the whole suite, and if you look at the timings, "The Other One" part of the suite per se lasted about 8 or 9 minutes, so if you take that into consideration, it's longer than the average for the era.
Playin' In The Band
April 24, 1972
Rheinhalle
This version is something special, the jam stays close melodically to the "Main Ten" part of the song, but it's taken to unsuspected heights and gets really spacy. I just wish it was longer. 11 minutes that lasted less than a heartbeat, that good it was.

Rheinhalle
Best way to start a show.
Hurts Me Too

Rheinhalle
Most emotive version. My favourite.
