Dark Star
May 14, 1974
Adams Field House, U of Montana

Exploratory jazzyness before the verse (perhaps a little bit too much exploration for my taste, I like them a little bit more focussed) but still very beautiful. After the verse, that when things get interesting. It's as scary as it comes, but it's not just non-sensical noise, the jam here has a melody to it, never heard nothing like it. After that we get a tiger jam that starts very silent and builds up until a peak like I've never heard before, it could be my favourite Tiger. Finaly, bill and bobby find a rhythm and stick to it while phil starts throwing bombs and we get a silky smooth transition into china doll.
