I like the early ones. They have better tempo.

Uncle John's Band
Sept. 27, 1972
Stanley Theatre

Lovely Jam. Gave up buying DP's about three/four years ago as was disappointed and usually preferred Charlie Miller or Hunter Seamons, etc., then after a gap I have just bought DP11, and disappointed again. Jerry's guitar is in the next door closet for most of the concert until UJB, when finally it comes out to join the others. Musicians are too "close", Billy is playing drums on your left knee, Bob is within kicking distance of your right foot, and Jerry whispers in your ear, like a studio version but crucially without the sound barriers they have in studios, so it is confused .... and Jerry's guitar spends all the concert until UJB in the closet next door. I will try the archive.

Very good for a live version of this. In fact, singing almost perfect until the final Wow-wow-wow's.
Wharf Rat
July 8, 1978
Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Part of an excellent segue, the best bit of the show. However, I would not rate it so high as a stand-alone Wharf Rat. I don’t like these later ones with the twee bit before “fly away”.
Dark Star
June 7, 1969
Fillmore West

This is very good. Just listened to it again today. Epic GD of '69. I had already up-voted it long ago, but now I am commenting because this a must-hear DS. Absolutely epic JG jam in the middle, almost the definitive DS theme. Good upgrade on the archive, with preceding and succeeding tracks good too.
