The Other One
Aug. 6, 1971
Hollywood Palladium

Sometimes when listening to this the transition just melts my face off. Doesn't always happen, but when it does happen it's right up there in the top 5 or 10 most sublime moments of Dead magic.
Dark Star
May 11, 1972
Rotterdam Civic Hall

Donnie, which Dark Star does it for you ? You haven't told us yet (as far as I can see).
Eyes Of The World
Sept. 3, 1977
Raceway Park

Excluding Nassau 1990, the top 11 versions on this site have only 1 from 77, 2 from 75, and a whopping 8 from 73/74 with over 500 votes between them. So I don't understand this argument.

Agreed. 72 for Bertha's (or 71 !)
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Civic Center

Yes, this is a good one. NB I have had the Tobin matrix for some time, and a friend just lent me the DaP. I have compared them side by side, and I prefer Tobin. Yes, Tobin is slightly head-in-a-tin-bucket, a little bit of hiss, and poorer bass response, like any 70's tape, but it is warmer, has better balance, and I can hear the cymbals and brush work better. The DaP suffers from the same problems that DP's did: Bob's guitar is way off left somewhere and too quiet; disembodied guitarists (guitar from one speaker and vocals from the other); and in this DaP (the reverse of DP's) the vocals are actually too loud compared to the guitars.
