Drums -> Space
Dec. 26, 1979
Oakland Auditorium

Amazing drums and a mind-melting space. The first I heard and still the best, IMO.

Ramble On Rose
Dec. 31, 1978
Winterland Arena

I love the high dynamic range of this version (and much of this show in general). Terrific playing and great interplay.
Bird Song
Dec. 9, 1989
Great Western LA Forum

This version displays the incredible level of interplay the band achieved in 89-90. It's absolute perfection.
Stella Blue
Oct. 14, 1983
Hartford Civic Center

I've heard other versions with vocals I like a bit more, but none with leads that come close to touching the power and vulnerability of these ones.
Eyes Of The World
May 22, 1977
The Sportatorium

Definitely my favourite Eyes, too. The intro is delicate and beautiful, and the rest cooks. I find a lot of other versions unfocused and rambly, but this one has a great focus to it. The transition to Wharf Rat was played at least one other time on May 3rd, 1977, though not as well as here, IMO.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Dec. 27, 1990
Coliseum Arena

I can't believe this version isn't in the top 5. It starts off a little slow, but half way through the first Scarlet lead, Jerry kicks in and doesn't take his foot off the pedal until the end of Fire. Beautiful transition jam and the only Fire that I really enjoy listening to (the boring chord progression gets tired quickly for me) - Jerry's lead is beautiful, lyrical, and has great interplay with Bruce and Vince. Also check out the wicked transition from Space into Miracle - Phil kicks butt.
