I would agree that there was a shift when Brent came along, but that started almost from the beginning of his tenure in '79 (go check out 11/1/79 if you haven't). The Brent era tends to get dismissed by some of the fanbase, but S>F's really benefitted from his work, mainly because Keith was almost a nonentity on many of the earlier versions. That said, Jerry was so brilliant in '77-'78 that it really becomes a matter of what your personal tastes are. I can appreciate both eras but I lean towards the early Brent years on the whole. Just my two cents.
