Eyes Of The World
Feb. 26, 1973
Pershing Municipal Auditorium

Nice early version. Donna's vocals on the chorus are buried in the mix so that's a plus for me. Seems to be some confusion on whether to go for a fourth round on the Dirt part of the outro, but I won't judge that too harshly. Especially enjoyable piece when taken in conjunction with the Dark Star that precedes it.

Three distinct sections to this one that flow seamlessly, and the transition into Eyes is also very nice.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

I have a hard time picking a favorite S/F but this has to be in the conversation. Transition is exhilarating, no lyric flubs, and energy to spare throughout the whole thing. I love Cornell but this should not be 350 votes behind it. Come on...

Such a severely underrated version. 83 was a great year from this combo, and this one is as good as any. The transition jam is jaw-dropping, and the band cohesion throughout is phenomenal. Jerry has a couple vocal flubs but so what. Anyone looking for a sleeper version should give this a listen.

Lots of zip to this one. Not sure that it's better than 10/14/83, but it's solid.
