High & lonesome, lithe & lean, and not too slow. Drums mixed way up in sbd and Billy's syncopated pulse carries the song.

Despite all the sound problems and a cut chorus, this just swings. Billy's nicely upfront in the sbd, everything gels. Melodic, heartfelt.

Love Keith's piano on this; quite active and confident relative to much of Spring '77 (during which he's often beautiful but fairly quiet).

Tough call between this and 5/8! The latter is unique thanks to Keith's polymoog. Jerry's indescribable guitar imo puts 3/20 over the top, and Keith's piano is subtly beautiful. Harmonies typically superb in Spring '77.

Several things.... Jerry's voice, soulful & economic lead lines, Keith's polymoog, back vox (Donna's wonderful in '77), tempo, groove (playing just behind the beat) = amazing vibe. About equal to 3/20, love 'em both! And yes 5/8 is my favorite show so far, no apologies :-) ... setlist to die for, multiple definitive or way-up-there versions.
