In any other month in any other year, this entire show would be considered a rip-roaring classic (which it is!!). Donna is awesome.

Days Between

Raw, ragged, savage, pretty darn profound. Almost a Close Encounter out of Space... Always a gorgeous work in progress... Not the best, but....

For sentimental reasons: Maybe not the best, but nice extended out-row jam, overall well-played '80s

Dancin' in the Streets
Nov. 8, 1970
Capitol Theater

Builds from Dark Star- Main Ten into a POWERHOUSE. A bit like one of the best ever, 5/2/70 (which maybe IS the best ever...). Great!
New Orleans
Nov. 8, 1970
Capitol Theater

Totally agree. This right here, New Orleans into Searchin', plus the Mystery Train-My Babe, the Me and My Uncle, probably the first Around and Around, all of it really is the total definition of Garage Band Rock and Roll. Raw, rollicking and nuts! So awesome! And Jerry brings it all back down to Earth with a gorgeous Baby Blue, and the rest of the set is pure primal Dead. And yeah, the Lee recordings are very nice indeed!
Dark Star
Nov. 8, 1970
Capitol Theater

Any Dark Star with a Main Ten is a 5 star Dark Star. The surge into Dancin' is ridiculous. This entire show is classic and amazing. The first half of the electric set, as Carrion Crow says in another post, is pure Garage Band Rock at it's rawest and absolute best.

And it's very true. Give me some milk or else go home!!! Nobody roared it better than Bobby.
