Bobby and Jerry trade licks scorchingly! Hot!!! They continue ripping into a ridiculous China-Rider! Hot show after the death of Bob Marley.

Entire show resonates with the ghost of Marley! At once succinct and jammy!

The Dead prevail! is probably how I should say it, though, since I don’t even know if it’s a technical failure….. could have been a failure of Jerry’s brain, forgetting the words after 3 years! Either way, this is a rare, fun beast of a return!

Jammiest CJ ever! When mics fail, Jerry will prevail!! (See 2/5/78 Samson, etc….)

Opens in reverse, yep, with the rocking sense of urgency we usually find in the coda, one of the best pieces of music ever, and it's just a fulcrum for one of the all-time-grate jams (Estimated-Terrapin-Playin-UJB-Drmz-Wheel-China Doll-Playin), a sequence most Prog Rock bands wish they could come close to after years in a studio, and the Dead just did it night after night on stage with little-to-no preparation, creating masterful works of art like it really was no big deal, improvisational masterpieces..... And the Wheel-China Doll is exquisite!!

Best? Maybe. Super fluid and rocking, the usual May of '77 grateness......
