I love what Phil does on this one. This thing is short and sweet.

Playin' In The Band
Sept. 16, 1972
Boston Music Hall

Just gave this one a relisten and I was struck by three things: 1. this 'Sick Bits Vol. 20' matrix or any equivalent is essential (a pure and clean board, while very much desired, would be sans a bit of magic), 2. the dynamics flow beautifully from pensive to hushed to absolute grip-your-face across the aural landscape, and 3. Billy is all over it and at times just suppley thunderous.
The Other One

Fillmore West

So wait, this is the top rated '69 TOO and it's currently at number 18! Somehow I find that remarkable.
Not Fade Away

Lindley Meadows, Golden Gate Park

Unique sounding and probably ought to be better represented on this board.
Truckin'
Sept. 28, 1975
Lindley Meadows, Golden Gate Park

They said they might not remember how to play it and they end up screwing up a verse's worth (on purpose, Jerry?)--but that's just a verse we've heard countless times before, anyway. As darkstar67 said, ''Jerry's penchant for "unflubbing" a flub with amazing, often shredding guitar work; has got to be one of the most compelling reasons (among the many) to loooooove this band.'' You get that in spades on this one.
Dark Star
April 28, 1971
Fillmore East

Gotta be the '71 Star I tap the most. Underrated, for sure.
