The Other One
Dec. 10, 1972
Winterland Arena

If Picasso's 'Guernica' had a small cut in it it would still be a masterpiece. This TOO has a bad cut in the recording but is still a masterpiece. A+

Jerry's singing and electrified Keith make this one heady.

Plenty happening on this one to warrant a listen. Nice segue into 'Drums'.

He's Gone

Curtis Hixon Convention Hall

Well sung, beautiful buttery bass, and Keith manages to fill in the holes with exquisite understatement.
Mexicali Blues

Old Renaissance Faire Grounds

This is where things start to sparkle around the edges.
Big River

Iowa State Fairgrounds

Had always meant to comment on this one because of the transition out of Eyes. Gave it another listen recently and, amongst other merits, was struck by Keith doing this real nifty Vince Guaraldi-sounding stuff on his solo.
Dark Star

Capitol Theater

Excellent intro portion. Post-verse is gongs and feedback. Listen to the crowd shushing each other--it's practically like a Keith Jarrett concert. Next comes a 'Main Ten Jam' (which would later get incorporated into PITB) and then a nice little jam before going into a hot 'Dancin'. This only circulates as an AUD and, as such, it very well could be one of the top ten most essential AUDs to have.

Add this to the list of essential Dews.
