Jerry's solo to close this one out is hard-driving and aggressive.

Well worth a listen. Sloppy and tight all at once.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
April 23, 1977
Springfield Civic Center

A good Scarlet leads into a subdued-but-not-uninteresting segue that has hints of 'Dear Prudence', a little shuffle, and Jerry briefly on slide. The Fire is a good one, largely due to Jerry's inspired solos--especially the outro one.
Turn On Your Love Light
Feb. 2, 1970
Fox Theatre

Jerry's playing on this one is as juicy and pretty as an apple tree heavy with fruit.
Dark Star
Feb. 2, 1970
Fox Theatre

Underrated. Excellent intro followed by a nice abstract portion that is perfect for watching the wind in the trees. Then you get a nice early 'Feelin' Groovy' jam that actually sounds something like its source of inspiration. You are then treated to more, plenty more, melodicism. This version makes up part of the cream of the pre-Keith renditions.

Smooth as flaxshit segue out of St. Stephen.
New Minglewood Blues
April 16, 1978
Huntington Civic Center

I love the raw, rough sound that the boys could get in '78. This is another very strong NMB.
