Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower
Sept. 19, 1990
Madison Square Garden

A big version. Listen as the baton gets passed without missing a beat.

Big River
Sept. 19, 1990
Madison Square Garden

An A1 performance that just improves with repeated listenings.

They Love Each Other
April 13, 1983
Patrick Gymnasium, U of Vermont

A bull's ass in fly season and the boys on this one are both TIGHT!!! (Although tight might not be the correct word for an awesome TLEO.)

Brokedown Palace
Sept. 28, 1972
Stanley Theatre

While not without imperfection, this version gets at that misty quality central to the ethos of the tune.

The Wheel
Feb. 3, 1978
Dane County Coliseum

A thin slice of sublime cheese in an earwateringly delicious sandwich: EP>Eyes>Playin'>Wheel>Playin' Reprise.

Estimated Prophet
May 25, 1977
The Mosque

This is a nice version, and in that way it is virtually indistinguishable from any other May '77 version.
Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower
June 17, 1975
Winterland Arena

This Slipknot and Franklin's are fantastic. The Slipknot goes into territory that reminds me of the wonderful Playin' (7/16/76) off of the Dave's '16 bonus disc.
They Love Each Other
Feb. 26, 1977
Swing Auditorium

Not my favorite post-hiatus Godchaux-era version, but it is damn good. It's also nice to see a version in the 'new' arrangement in first place, for once.
They Love Each Other
May 21, 1977
Lakeland Civic Center

After 4/16/78 (and in spite of the 'missing' vocals in the first portion of that one), I might have to go with this one for post-hiatus Keith and Donna-era versions.
Dark Star
Aug. 1, 1973
Roosevelt Stadium

Way back when, Steve Howe used the 'whale' effect quite a bit, too; indeed, Jerry started using the effect at least as early as '69, maybe even as early as '68. It definitely appears a bit in '72 on Stars, etc. I'll try to post examples as I hear 'em.
