A Homo erectus-like version but notable for Jerry's solo after the first Rio Grandee chorus.

The definition of brevity. Sweet stuff!!!

Awesome early version. Jerry has a great solo at the end.

Jerry impassioned yet subdued singing in that ragged and worn voice is deeply affecting.

Jerry's voice and singing at this time fit this one perfectly.

Alabama Getaway

Recently got my paws on this Road Trips. There aren't too many good sounding SBDs with this tune from its early vintage out there but this here is certainly one of them. Nice segue into GSET.

Some of Phil's most legendary 'Phil bombs' are from this tour--a result of many factors: great live sound system, beer, well-recorded SBDs, the band at a peak, etc.--and this is a pretty remarkable one. Check out the 'Dark Star' from 10/25/73 for maybe the mother of all Spaces from the Fall '73 tour. Now there's a version that should probably have about 5 times as many votes as it's got now.

Love is a many-splendored thing! Have fun! Now, this here 'Row Jimmy' just might be the very definition of heady...but no up-vote here, 'cause it just don't feel right votin' for sumthin' I ain't never listened to.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Sept. 24, 1972
Palace Theatre

This is one of the shows for which I am most curious about in the 30 Trips box. Will they patch the Rider with the AUD, the SBD of another show, or do they have the complete Rider in the vault?

Grendel is right: explain. It would be best, maybe, if every version was listed-- even the shittiest or worse than that--but had a collection of thoughtful comments about it. A conversation, of sorts. The votes probably speak for themselves which trails are most worth exploring (although there are some duds--- good topic for other online conversations, 'The most out of whack ratings on headyversion'-and plenty of under-the-radar stuff).
