A big version. Listen as the baton gets passed without missing a beat.

An A1 performance that just improves with repeated listenings.

They Love Each Other
April 13, 1983
Patrick Gymnasium, U of Vermont
A bull's ass in fly season and the boys on this one are both TIGHT!!! (Although tight might not be the correct word for an awesome TLEO.)

Brokedown Palace
Sept. 28, 1972
Stanley Theatre
While not without imperfection, this version gets at that misty quality central to the ethos of the tune.

Woops! Sorry, CC--I meant to say 12/15/72.

The Spectrum
I haven't listened to it in a while but, if I remember right, 12/10/72 Long Beach has also got a long red carpet rolled out for DS.
China Cat Sunflower
Jan. 2, 1972
Winterland Arena
I should also say that there is no IKYR here, as is sometimes erroneously listed.

York Farm
Apparently, they also played TIFTOO and Dancin' in the Streets (among, obviously, others) at this long show. And by most accounts they blew the lid off the place. The boys sure did have a thing for Wisconsin! Check out these links... (http://lostlivedead.blogspot.com.tr/2009/12/sound-storm-york-farm-poynette-wi-april.html) (http://www.setlists.net/?show_id=0578) Edit: just put those links in parentheses 'cause they got all scrunched up.

Kresge Plaza - MIT
And that pocket sure is deep! I always loved Bobby urging everyone to get up and shake it as Jerry comes in with authority for the big jam. Also, the way they play the 'Tighten' Up' jam in this one is, as I remember (been a few moons since I heard this one), quite different than say, 6/24/70 or 10/31/71--less ecstatic and more angular? Great stuff!
