Very heady jam segment in this one. Show is a sleeper from May

Cassidy

The latter half of a great on-two punch to kick off the show (1/2 step preceding), this Cassidy is an absolute bute. Bob/Jer communication is tight

New Minglewood Blues

Boston Garden

Jerry rips a sick intro solo. Hyped up energy

Feel Like A Stranger

Boston Garden

The 'butt sweat' meter is off the charts for this. Great Brent work and killer peak

Marin County Civic Center

Funky stuff. Jerry makes some excellent licks and Brent has fine supporting contributions. Heady, for sure

Good Lovin'
April 13, 1971
Catholic Youth Center

Phil creates a DEEP pocket pre-Pig rap and he, Jerry, and Bobby emerge as a three-headed monster of groove. Post-rap, Jerry takes over on driving the jam with a hypnotic pattern the rest of the band latches onto. Great jam!
Scarlet Begonias
April 27, 1985
Frost Amphitheatre

This show is such a treat. Jam has tight staccato style like the clicking of a dial. Chunky goodness
Playin' In The Band
Oct. 10, 1982
Frost Amphitheatre

Not a long version by any stretch, but they accomplish a ton in this ~8 min span to kick off a great set and lay down some sweet, interconnected jamming
Crazy Fingers
Oct. 10, 1982
Frost Amphitheatre

Dusted this show off for the first time in ages and loved the respin. This Playin' > Crazy > Sailor > Saint sequence is melodic butter, with version of CF as the highlight. Such a bute
Dire Wolf
Jan. 22, 1978
McArthur Court, U of Oregon

This is my favorite of all the wolves. So crisp and vibrant. This song serves its role as a first set vibe booster in the best possible way. This version is a “glue guy” performance reason why this is an all-time show
