Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower
Oct. 11, 1977
Lloyd Noble Center - University of Oklahoma
I have been making my way down the list and this is my favorite so far. The sound on Road Trips is really good and that may help a bit. You can hear every detail. This is by far my favorite after going over all the above mentioneds this morning. This is the gem, especially if you have a good sound setup.
Dire Wolf
July 8, 1978
Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Many tunes have a few versions that could contend for "The Best of the Best." Not this song, not Dire Wolf. This is the one and only Dire Wolf. Vocals, tempo, blown lyric, sweet jam, and emotions showing through. Like Peggy O from Fox 5/77, and Sing Me Back Home at Veneta 72, this is perfection. Just so much better than all the others. It really didn't happen too often, so enjoy.
China Doll
Dec. 29, 1977
Winterland Arena
This is a top three for me, maybe #1.
China Doll
May 19, 1977
Fox Theatre
Wow! I was gonna go with Winterland 77 but this one is really goodntoo. Its heavy but with a slower tempo. Tough call as I do like it slightly quicker paced. The vocals stand out more on this but that Winterland is better layered. I'm gonna keep looking.
Weather Report Suite

This was always my favorite.
