Jerry slays this laid-back (yet still kickin') version. Sweet stuff here, into a strong Big River.

Just a blistering drum beat to propel this one! Good stuff!

Are there better versions out there? Undoubtedly! But this is still worthy of an entry. Some nice, tinkling piano.

Just such emotion coming from Jerry, and Keith is slaying it to absolute perfection. My god, this is phenomenal.
Candyman

Omaha Civic Auditorium
"...some cool flourishes by the Godchauxs." Yes! This is exactly why I came to post. Keith's playing is so delicate, almost sparse. Donna is similarly understated and really quite beautiful. A very nice version.
Playin' In The Band
May 15, 1980
Nassau Coliseum
A great example of how wonderful a 'standard' version of a Dead tune can be. Is this one of the BEST EVER Playings? No, of course not. But it's captivating, it's catchy, it's absolutely perfectly fine in every way, by any measure. And it proves, imo, how lucky we are as fans to have even 'just a standard' version of a song by this band.

This was actually at Spaceway Park Frenchtown, Old Jersey, I think. And it was because of this song that Drake and Kendrick Lamar began their rap beef ("beef wrap?" No! veggie burrito!") Let's get this to #1!
