Woefully underrated. This stupendous version covers man roads and side alleys, hitting various peaks and allies. It's a good Dark Star for the impatient because there's never a dull moment and because it's shorter in length than some of the other beasts from '73. This one deserves to be in at least the same conversation of other top-shelf Stars of the year like 2/15, 2/26, 6/10, 8/1, 9/11, 11/11.... yet, seemingly it's not. I feel obliged to say that that needs to be remedied!

This WRS is arguably the best of the year, and with possible exception of 9/11, certainly the jazziest (the interplay between Jerry & Bobby is stupendous). There is an AUD patch around the 14:20 mark, lasting approximately a minute, but hardly seems like a blemish thanks to Charlie Miller’s magic touch.

Cracklin' with energy! This version, along with 12/12, are my two favorites of the year for two reasons: First, they're splendid renditions on their own terms. Second, Donna was on leave and she's not there to drown out Jerry's blistering end solo. (Read: I'm not a Donna hater by any means; I think she was an asset much of the time, particularly on the ballads. I just wish her mic was turned off for Playin', Scarlet, and this song!

Couldn't agree more with 'ed_bob'. This subtle version is as exquisite as it is short. This version, the Dark Star and the whole show in general is ranked way lower down the line than it rightly deserves. Clean out and year ears and vote folks!
