Mind Left Body Jam
Oct. 30, 1973
Kiel Auditorium

Sandwiched between a dreamy Dark Star. Not the definitive version perhaps, but it belongs in the discussion.

Can believe this one isn't already here! A beautiful version from one of the top five shows ever played.

Strand Lyceum

Near flawless version from a near flawless tour. The whole band is locked in on the home stretch here, and keith is hammerin' away on those ivories..

Beat it on Down The Line

Olympia Theater

Tight, inspired, rockin'. Best of the Euro '72 run. Give it some love, folks!

Deal

Rotterdam Civic Hall

One knows from Jerry's opening vocals "cost a lot to win" sung with extra twang, that it's gonna be rockin' with that good county, funky vibe.

They Love Each Other
March 24, 1973
The Spectrum

The bounciest and best from the March '73 run!
Box of Rain
March 24, 1973
The Spectrum

I think 'Box' is one of the very few Dead songs where the studio version surpasses any live version. That said, this version is as good as it ever got live, imho. I love it not despite its imperfections, but because of them. This song live is real and emotive, warts and all.
Eyes Of The World
Sept. 7, 1973
Nassau Coliseum

Energetic Eyes? Yes, it's beyond belief! For years now, I've been scratching my head as to why this version and the one from 10/29 are so low down the list. They're the two best from the year! Please listen and vote, folks!
Dancin' in the Streets
June 10, 1976
Boston Music Hall

This groove moves at a jagged and chunky pace. They would smooth it out as the year wore on (listen to 10/3 and 10/10), but tonight's work-in-progress version still delivers the goods.
Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower
June 10, 1976
Boston Music Hall

Interesting Slipknot! It takes its time, meandering in a spacey, jazzy flavor that contains prominent contributions by Keith.
