Mind Left Body Jam
Oct. 30, 1973
Kiel Auditorium
Sandwiched between a dreamy Dark Star. Not the definitive version perhaps, but it belongs in the discussion.

Can believe this one isn't already here! A beautiful version from one of the top five shows ever played.

Casey Jones

Strand Lyceum
Near flawless version from a near flawless tour. The whole band is locked in on the home stretch here, and keith is hammerin' away on those ivories..

Beat it on Down The Line
May 3, 1972
Olympia Theater
Tight, inspired, rockin'. Best of the Euro '72 run. Give it some love, folks!

Deal

Rotterdam Civic Hall
One knows from Jerry's opening vocals "cost a lot to win" sung with extra twang, that it's gonna be rockin' with that good county, funky vibe.

Cow Palace
Inspired.
Playin' In The Band
Dec. 31, 1976
Cow Palace
One of the better versions of Playin', post-hiatus. This reading explores many avenues of ideas; the segment from about 14:00 -19:00 is especially engaging.
St. Stephen
Sept. 25, 1976
Capital Centre
The fall tour of '76 contains some of my favorite music the Dead laid down, but I think this show is weaker compared to beasts that lay ahead: 9/28, 10/1, 10/3, 10/9, 10/10, 12/31. That said, this show has its moments. For me the highlight of tonight's show is the groove Phil thumps down following the drums before leading into St. Stephen. Nothing explosive here, but a fun listen nonetheless.
Bertha
Dec. 31, 1976
Cow Palace
My favorite '76 Bertha for sure.
Lazy Lightnin' -> Supplication
June 11, 1976
Boston Music Hall
Underrated.
