Sandwiched between a dreamy Dark Star. Not the definitive version perhaps, but it belongs in the discussion.

Can believe this one isn't already here! A beautiful version from one of the top five shows ever played.

Tight, inspired, rockin'. Best of the Euro '72 run. Give it some love, folks!

One knows from Jerry's opening vocals "cost a lot to win" sung with extra twang, that it's gonna be rockin' with that good county, funky vibe.

This one is defined by understatement; indeed, it's the most mellow version of the period. It doesn't soar like like the more robust ones of the year (2/17, 2/22, 3/16, 6/10, 6/22, 7/27), but it's a delicate and even paced beauty all its own.

Grit, swagger, country-croon.

This version is unique in that the minor key jam -"the coda" - is particularly long and exploratory. While not as tight and intense as others from the year (9/7, 10/29 & 11/11 come to mind), the charm of this one lies in the more mellow, loose and playful character.
