Sandwiched between a dreamy Dark Star. Not the definitive version perhaps, but it belongs in the discussion.

Can believe this one isn't already here! A beautiful version from one of the top five shows ever played.

Near flawless version from a near flawless tour. The whole band is locked in on the home stretch here, and keith is hammerin' away on those ivories..

Tight, inspired, rockin'. Best of the Euro '72 run. Give it some love, folks!

One knows from Jerry's opening vocals "cost a lot to win" sung with extra twang, that it's gonna be rockin' with that good county, funky vibe.

Comes A Time
July 17, 1976
Orpheum Theatre

Truly an inspired piece of music. The last 6 &1/2 minutes are quite unlike any other version played. The boys lock into a sweeping, emotive, exquisite groove that sways and soothes, and can evoke tears of joy and sorrow simultaneously. This one is heady, heavy & tender all at once. One for the ages!

Underrated version from a woefully underrated show (and year). The official release has helped garner more attention, but I think it's still in need of more love.

^I love '76! This version is pretty stellar, indeed. I'd place it in good company w/ 6/14, 7/17 & 9/28 for the year. Thanks for pointing this one out - I had passed it over all these years. No longer.
Cassidy
June 9, 1976
Boston Music Hall

A lush, delicate version. The Cassidy's of this period are shorter than the readings to come over the next couple years, but in this stage it's sweet and beautifully crafted. A fine vintage.

^ Right on, brother! "Listen to the river sing sweet songs"...
