NFA as a Jerry tune? Yup, here it is! "But you drive me back -- huh!" Hell yes!

Overlooked GEM! Swift yet deeply felt. Jerry CRUSHES it.

Awesome version! Strong throughout. There's a sense of purpose here that's lacking from many versions. May well be the best version.

I didn't used to think this version deserved to be rated highly, let alone rated #1. But I just listened to it and I can see that the high ranking isn't *just* because it's the last tune Jerry ever played with the Dead. There is something great about this version -- many things. Indeed, Jerry kicked ass on a lot of ballads in Summer '95. This isn't the best of them. For my money, the last, best thing they ever played was the "Brokedown Palace" encore from 6/25/95. That version doesn't rate high because they'd been playing Brokedown for twenty-five years, but it has that distinctive late-era power that this version of BMR has, but even more so. So check that out too. It'll bring a tear to your eye, as will the "Wharf Rat" from the same show (6/25/95). Even at the end, Jerry had his moments, and they were beautiful.

This is an outstanding version of this beautiful tune. The available recordings leave much to be desired, but if you can get past that, I think you'll find it's pretty special. (It was my favorite version back in the tape-collecting days, and I can see why. It may still be my favorite!)

"Fairly certain this would kill a Victorian child" --> I vote for this as the Headiest Comment.
