"Just exactly perfect" is just about exactly right. Sure, if you don't like the 1990 sound, then you won't agree -- but HOW they play the song is sweeeet. Take FOTM. Every solo is like an orchestrated movement: beginning, middle, end. It's all just so damn fucking good.

For my money, the definitive version. They play it so fast you'll think the tape was running fast -- but no, they were just THAT high! Amazing. Not perfect, but it's got boatloads of that "special something" that makes certain versions stand out. Easily smokes 1979/01/11, IMO.
