I'm leaving my previous comment up as a testament to how wrong we all can be sometimes! After a re-listen yesterday, I'm left with the conclusion that this version is pretty DAMN good. Extraordinarily spacey, this version melts down to almost nothing by its last third. Really interesting version and shows how up until the very last performance of this song they were willing to do something new and cool. It's not a top ten or probably even top 100, but it's good. This whole spring tour needs a lot more love, in my opinion. It was the last tour that Jerry was truly present for, and there's some absolutely excellent playing hidden in a lot of very decent playing. 3/6, 3/16/, 3/18, 3/21, 3/27/, 3/28/, 3/30, and 4/4 all deserve some love.

Yeah, most of us are guilty of skipping space now and again. I usually am surprised how much I enjoy a good Space when I sit down and listen. This one is great, and really it's only a few minutes long before they start teasing playin. Jerry was READY to slam back into playin and UJB. Scary vibe, like the rest of the set, IMO.
Playin' In The Band

Spacey version, 10+ min on either end of UJB. There’s a terrifying meltdown at the end of the second Playin’ that probably melted some faces that night.

Most pristine version IMO. Feels unreal, like voices from another age.

Far hotter than the lauded 5/27/93, which I think is best known because it’s part of that fantastic UJB sandwich. This Cassidy is stronger and very intense the jam! It’ll space your face
