Nice Playin'. Jerry finds a few good riffs. Not usually a fan of late era playins, as Jerry's speedy playing is so integral. He plays pretty well here

Picture perfect. Soaring leads from Jerry and crashes exquistely back into the verse

Hot Playin>China Doll>Playin. Long and exploratory on both ends, especially for 84.

Very hot tour opener. Jerry's playing is excellent. This show is the only good one from this weird little run in Colorado.

Shockingly good. Only good things to say about the Boston Garden run from this tour. These first few nights allayed fears after awful summer tour.

Totally great version. Buildup in the end jam is more of a slow burn rather than an explosion of energy, but still a fun one.

Definitely agree, Grendel. Love the way the mid solo here is played in a lower octave at the outset, like all versions pre April 77. Think it adds a lot to the gentleness and flow you mention

Underrated. Beautiful mid solo - possibly better than my favorite, 3/18.

Giving this one a vote exclusively based upon how hot the mid solo is. Jerry's build into it never sounded better.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

Jerry makes as though he's gonna start the intro to Fire, then goes back into a high-speed frenzy of notes before Phil drops into the Fire theme. Nice transition. The suite as a whole is solid but not exceptional. Great vid on youtube.
