Lyrically precise, energetic playing, and everyone sounds like they're enjoying themselves. What more could you ask for on this one?

The Palestra, U. of Rochester

The shorter versions need love to, and this one hits all the sweet spots.

The main solo on this one absolutely smokes. This version deserves A LOT more love.
Bird Song
Dec. 9, 1981
Activity Center - University of Colorado

Around 5:50, Jerry and Phil lock into a very nice groove that I don't think I've heard in other versions. It's a very subtle peak, but it's a solid highlight in a generally fine reading of this tune.
Lost Sailor -> Saint of Circumstance
May 6, 1981
Nassau Coliseum

Sailor doesn't overstay its welcome or plod as it sometimes could, and Saint is given a tasteful, rocking performance that stands among the cleanest renditions out there. A+
High Time
May 6, 1981
Nassau Coliseum

A near note perfect version. Gorgeous and delicate with the full band riding the mellow current Jerry sets in motion. This is where this legendary show really starts to click into gear.
They Love Each Other
May 6, 1981
Nassau Coliseum

Jerry reaches into some really interesting space for his main solo, which mostly makes up for the rest of the band's languid backing on the verses.
