Felt Forum, Madison Square Garden

Lyrically precise, energetic playing, and everyone sounds like they're enjoying themselves. What more could you ask for on this one?

The shorter versions need love to, and this one hits all the sweet spots.

Fun and thunderous, this version has some great grooves.

Clean and confident reading with lots of personality from Phil and Vince.

Lazy Lightnin' -> Supplication

The Palladium

Luxuriously mellow. This one almost feels like a hybrid of '76 and '77 Dead.

Really nice version. Jerry's solos are full of ideas, each executed capably, and the band seems to find a current of energy largely missing from the set up to this point.
The Other One
March 22, 1990
Copps Coliseum

This is no perfunctory post-Space Other One. What it lacks in length it more than makes up for in intensity and focus. No one is phoning it in — Jerry is absolutely shredding, Bob is providing challenging accompaniment, the Devils are bouncing, and Brent is sprinkling creative runs all over the top. Maybe the best of the year?
Mexicali Blues

Dillon Stadium

Bill really is on fire, but so is Jerry. Clean, precise leads with interesting fills throughout. Pretty top-shelf version of what's usually a filler song.

Yeah, the opening solo just feels botched. I love what Phil is up to though. Shame it doesn't all come together.
