Weather Report Suite
Prime fall '73, featuring Martin Fierro and others on horns, it really goes
12
He's Gone
Perfect
8
Wharf Rat
They really mean it on this one
6
Row Jimmy
Prime-time action
4
One More Saturday Night
Fierce and sweet...rockin' out
10
Here Comes Sunshine
Takes off quickly, Jerry is tight
9
Playin' In The Band
Subtle, simmering, with slow, steady intensity. To my ears this show has mix issues and needs re-work - but definitely worth it.
5
Truckin'
Stunning w/ great Phil solo into TOO. A 2nd set from heaven: LIG>He's Gone>Truckin>TOO>Wharf Rat. Don't be put off by 1st set flubs, listen to this!
13
The Other One
A must-hear. Goes through four or five melodic/rhythmic innovations, odd time sigs and a MLBesque jam outro. Avoid Lai's version with a nasty cut.
4
Let Me Sing Your Blues Away
final one in philly comes out of a hot playin'
5
Let It Grow
Horn Section of Fierro and Ellis with nice touches on this. Might be an acquired taste but if you like it check out the Legion of Mary stuff.
7
Black Peter
Jerry and Keith generate so much soul here. Blue. Sad. Beautiful. The crowd response to the emotion just adds to the sweetness. ✌
2
Big Railroad Blues
Really solid one to start the night
2
Brown Eyed Women
Mellow with great melodies.
4
Loose Lucy
Nice bluesy version with passionate vocals by Jerry.
1
Me and My Uncle
Pure '73 heat. Absolute barn-burner!
