Easily #3, possibly #1, as I've not heard 2/26/77, which occupies the #1 spot, and Lindley Meadows is a newly discovered treat. But the notion that all of these '77 versions are better than Cow Palace is ridiculous. The sharply defined chord renderings and reverb by Jerry Garcia are fantastic this New Year's, and never duplicated. The chorus is one of a kind, captured indelibly by the multi-track. The sound and performance is simply unparalleled.

This is really the best version ever. Anything after 1978 should be evaluated as a different band performance. That goes for all songs. There is no comparison between the 70s and 80s, as they are simply on two different planes.

The Europe '72 versions are all in the top 10. The sound is sooooo good. This particular performance is possibly the best on the tour, not only because of it's proximity in the jam, but on its stand-alone merit as well. Jerry's spacey slide work. 4/24/72 is up there too; it's also part of a longer Dark Star feature.
