It's worth noting that this short South-East run is exceptionally chipper. Some have speculated the boys ran into a serious snowstorm down in Florida and are bringing Tony Montana vibes to the stage. I think it's more to do with these being the first gigs back on the road after lengthy residency's at Warfield and Radio City. While those shows are legendary and bring us some of serious definitive cuts of many songs...overall they feel quite stiff and uninspired. The obligation to play a pre-determined set, cameras rolling, and a rather 'exclusive' crowd made for weird vibes, and this is the first show back to doing what the Dead does best....suck and fuck.
