From Cincinnati `76 & also apparently on of the rare times this rocker was used to close a set! Also the pick of the day for 11~9~23 Dead days

Jerryz intro is extra sweet on this version and he's on point throughout. A fine pre coma Jerry while Bobby is off at times lyrically. Still Heady!

A particularly nice early years Brent version from winter 1979 tour. Jerry's guitar gently weeps wonderfully throughout. Latest pick from Dave~47

From Dave's 47, supercharged high energy first set opener with Brent's fingers on fire!

A lyrical flub aside, and yes this is a good cut with a fine pre hiatus Donna Jean gem at the end. No banshees here.

Thanks to Dave yes! For the killer filler from pick #37! What I like about this song version is that it’s followed by Dancin’ in the Streets instead of Fire in an era where that seemed rare. Though I must say what mesmerizes me is Donna’s perfection at the end of this one. The (misrepresented exaggeration) metaphorical “banshee” earned her halo on this gem, all other rough cuts be forgiven!

I’m from PdXs so I’m a bit biased, though this is a great (1974) rendition of the song. My only caveat is during the end part Donna’s mic is so loud and she’s a bit rough on the cut. Otherwise she and Jerry sound good. The next show in Seattle the Scarlet was near perfect for the coda jam but she and Jerry flubbed an early lyric. If I had my way I would cut and patch the two songs into one from both shows.

Dick’s #18 I presume!?

Keith and Jerry are battling out a dual from the get go on this sick version of an always well and often played song. (Minus a forgotten Bobby lyric here on this one) I’ve gotta hand the winners take to Keith though as he musically manifested the rolling “die is shaking, now the die must fall” dice on his keys. Jerry is absolutely on fire for the solo but Kieth once again steals the song with his rolling keys while he musically mimes the lyrics as he “laid his body down” in that shallow grave. An awesome arraignment in accompaniment to the lyrics. Oh yeah! Not to mention it’s a Funkytown Phil show, in Philly no less. Dick’s #31, a good one!
