Grendel, I’ll agree that the vocal harmonies may be a bit stronger on the Dead Set version. But I much prefer Keith’s piano playing to Brent’s organ playing on this track (and pretty much any track, for that matter). Jerry’s guitar tone and solo are much more pleasing on 9/27 to my ears, and that’s what really makes a Brokedown Palace for me.

Dammit Grendel, after a couple more listens I gotta give it to ya - this is a pretty sweet version. Up there with the best of ‘em. Voting it up! Hope this show gets picked by Dave soon.

To me this is only second to Cornell. It doesn’t quite have that special, hypnotic feel that Cornell does, but in some ways it’s more creative. Should be much higher on the list.
