Jerry’s tone at this show makes this perhaps the heaviest version ever played!!!

Spirited MAMU > Big River! (Criminally underrated show)…

Activity Center. Arizona State U

Transcendent version + with Jerr going full-on spacey! (Weird, like the whole show!)

Perfect encapsulation of this show: not a lot of highlights, but absolutely rippin’, at the same time.

Great vocals throughout this show…

Indeed, Danny; both Nashville shows are fire. The December show is more jammin’, with the best Dr. Bob AUD ever + the last ever appearance of the second Bean. But they feelin’ it, in prep for another all-timer at Illinois State two days later. What a run. This is the height of the band, tippy-top of the mountain…

Energetic version from this magical + short fall SE run. Blows away the LBC version, so let’s just get that straight, Mainline.

Bobby is the hottest player on this particular version, which doesn’t even begin to approach the top-5 version played less than 2 weeks earlier, on 2/26/81. Who gives a good goddamn about the latest MSG release with respect to which versions bring it? You ain’t listened to enough if this is top-10 all-time. Yeesh.

More energy than any of the others up here in this stratosphere…
