Playin' In The Band
May 10, 1972
Concertgebouw

This one may define my perfect PITB. I have been searching for more mellow but less spacey versions. I was directed towards early '72 as the versions were a little shorter and still in development. I am currently listening to the entire Europe tour and found this to be the perfect blend of intensity with just enough mellow space to get lost in. If there are any others like this please please point me in the direction.
Estimated Prophet
June 12, 1980
Memorial Coliseum

Great way to bring Prophet into the 80’s. Might be my favorite from that time. Everyone is on and the way they transition into drums is very nice.
Dire Wolf
Nov. 21, 1973
Denver Coliseum

Mellow gold indeed. The band really tuned into their country-rock-jazz feel in Denver. Pure Americana. I feel like I'm venturing out into the west with them as my soundtrack.
Pretty Peggy O

The Sportatorium

I totally agree with you Tigerpop. I just heard this for the first time and I can easily say it is top 5 all time for me and definitely the best of '78. Jerry's vocals are on point and those solos are just beautiful. The rest of the bands playing around Jerry during the solos has me feeling like I could just float away.
Stella Blue
July 18, 1976
Orpheum Theater

This one may have set the bar for me on what makes an elite Stella. Jerry's voice sounds great. Phil and the boys help set the tempo. I am not a big Keith fan because I rarely feel like I hear where he contributes most times but this is one where he definitely stands out. The outro knocks it out of the park. That guitar is soft and tender just carrying you off to another planet. I am fairly new on exploring Stella so if there are any other shows that come to mind like this other than 10/21/78 and 6/18/74 please let me know!
