Good Lovin'

Memorial Auditorium

Excellent conclusion to a Wharf Rat > I Need a Miracle > Bertha > Good Lovin'. From Road Trips Vol. 1, No. 1. Finishes with an energetic flourish.

New Minglewood Blues
Dec. 30, 1979
Oakland Auditorium

Really solid version of a tune that generally doesn't do a whole lot for me. cgarces is right, this has something that the '77s don't.
They Love Each Other
Oct. 14, 1983
Hartford Civic Center

Just a small correction that this is Dick's Picks 6, not 8. I too find it interesting that he released it so early in the series though. It must have been so hard to decide what to release at the start with the vault being such an embarrassment of riches.
Bertha
Sept. 8, 1973
Nassau Coliseum

Ends up all right but feels like a bit of a clunky start to this one.
Dark Star
Oct. 31, 1971
Ohio Theatre

Love this version. It was my first Dark Star love and still one of my favourites. I agree with hvd, "Totally worth a listen for anybody inclined to sit down and really appreciate what's going on." Really great experience to sit with nothing else going on and listen, and marvel at the places Jerry goes (and the whole band go, of course). I also agree that this is a good Dark Star to start newbie Deadheads on - not too intimidating, not excessively long, doesn't have any screechy weirdness. And you can easily let it roll for the rest of the Dick's release if you are so inclined, which I usually am. :)
Me and My Uncle
Feb. 26, 1973
Pershing Municipal Auditorium

Some of the "Me and My Uncles" on the list are perhaps more chosen because they're part of a (delicious) sandwich of tunes. If you're looking for a tight, rocking stand-alone version, check this one out.
