One of the more languid takes on this one. Although Jerry's voice is shot, it works. Notable for 2 runs through the solo, both of them stellar.

Explosive jam makes this one a bit unique. Not as smooth and complex as some later versions, but synergy and chops by all.

Smokes from head to tail. No SBD, or this would be top 5 with ease.

I fully expect this one to rise in popularity once the BBD arrives.

Nice AUD has Jerry up front. Great solo in SB, transition is interesting, with nice cascading riffs, followed by a Hot FOTM.

There are some fine versions very low on this list. I think we are missing a few that haven't been nominated. My mission is to listen to all of them anonymously and give an objective review of their merits for my own edification. I'm exactly half complete at this point. Some of my faves have fallen hard in the process. This has always been one of my top '77s, I hope it stands up to the scrutiny. On a side note, it's way more fun to listen casually than purposefully, although it's an enjoyable task.

Sleeping way down here on the list. That MIDI flute can become a bit tiresome, but the first jam in Fire is 3.5 minutes of Full band bliss, everyone gets a chance to shine, and they do. The only problem I had with this is I wanted more, as the second jam and outro are rather short. It deserves better company. +1

Love the Funk intro to Fire, the closing jam is pretty good, too. What really stands out to me is JG's voice. I've never heard it so bad. Sounds painful.

I don't understand the appeal of this one. What's there isn't bad, but Jerry's rig cops a powder at 3:30 into FOTM, he comes back around 5:50, but the problems persist. Bob and Brent try to cover, but they abort it and head to drums.

Another gem from the under appreciated post-coma/TouchHead years. Starts a bit sloppy, but gels quickly and stays focused and interesting through out the transition, the FOTM sways, swaggers and screams. Then blasts off for more of the same. Chubby eats the 3rd verse of SB, and there is a hiccup in the tranx into the SB coda. Who cares? The whole band shines here. +1
