One of the more languid takes on this one. Although Jerry's voice is shot, it works. Notable for 2 runs through the solo, both of them stellar.

Explosive jam makes this one a bit unique. Not as smooth and complex as some later versions, but synergy and chops by all.

Smokes from head to tail. No SBD, or this would be top 5 with ease.

I fully expect this one to rise in popularity once the BBD arrives.

Nice AUD has Jerry up front. Great solo in SB, transition is interesting, with nice cascading riffs, followed by a Hot FOTM.

You've never heard these two, have you? Had you, no way this would be languishing down here with 3 votes.

Yeah, Branford is lost on this one. A tenor sax would have fit in better. Jerry is playing well, and tries like hell to give him room. He changes his tone and midi settings about a dozen times. I think the whole problem is they had quit listening to one another. Very little interplay on the '93 versions I've heard.

Not as easy to tell a '87 from an '88, though. I am curious as to how my favorite from from '91 will fare, I've always felt it top notch, but attendance bias, Jerry playing Wolf, a nice aud a few days after the show, a SBD a few months later, you know the deal. As for the spread sheet, it's fairly self explanatory. The timings are are accurate with a little rounding. I'm not real familiar with spread sheets, but i have made commenting available. i don't intend on adding my hand written notes on each to it. Like the Buddha, I implore you to dismiss my ratings and find your own bliss. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19QqtgcsCqsJPxBVCuSbIs6NvTU2QTc4uyJHRxBI4lWg/edit#gid=0

Train wreck on the Scarlet bridge and a poor solo afterwards. The transition is good, but kind of mellow. Sort of reminds me of some '79 PITB's. The energy does pick up nicely, and the Fire fares much better. The second jam in it hits escape velocity.

Thanks, Grendel. I use a similar rating system, but rate Scarlet and Fire separately. I don't grade on a curve for a few reasons, one being that i listen to them anonymously, to try and reduce bias. A curve would introduce it. Although i have been a tape collector for 30 years or so, I've learned quite a bit by approaching it in this manner. I have a spread sheet set up that maps the combo, if anyone is interested, I'll share. I am only about 1/6 complete.
