Jerry slays this laid-back (yet still kickin') version. Sweet stuff here, into a strong Big River.

Just a blistering drum beat to propel this one! Good stuff!

Are there better versions out there? Undoubtedly! But this is still worthy of an entry. Some nice, tinkling piano.

Heck of a rollickin' 1-2 punch to open a show. Very nice Franklin's!

@DonnieinMT - Usually, I really like the posts that you add here. I've been turned on to MANY a version that I'd been unaware of prior thanks to your recommendation(s). However, on this version - perhaps overrated, as you say - you wrote: "I know this is mostly pointless, because 1977 is a sacred cow on this site and too many people are blindly in awe of anything played that year." While I get where you're coming from, dude, you're not a 'better fan' because you might not like '77 as much as others. It's not a competition - it's music!! What floats the boats of others might not do anything for you, and vice versa -- nobody's at fault there; nobody's better or worse because of it. Yeah, there are likely some posers here, but if people like the crap out of '77 (and if you don't) it doesn't mean they're blindly following along. What it means is they like the crap out of '77 (and perhaps you don't). Lets just let fans be fans, like what they want, and be grateful we've all tapped into this magic!

@DaGoodolRichard - I think you mean Dark Star was still playing around with THEM! Dark Star's ALWAYS been playing, and it's still playing RIGHT NOW, all around us!

@Mr_PeaCH - That low moaning is why I came (well, that didn't come out how I intended...) - I kept feeling like it was going to start morphing into "I Didn't Know...." Blistering version all around.
