controlled poignancy, so much touch, so clear, so piercing, so sweet, so Jerry at his finest - one of his best vehicles, rendered here in crystalline form. ahhhh I can see the clouds, the blue sky, the big American sky rendered by a beautiful American voice

True about Weir being MVP. Jerry finds some new places in the melody and this is a pretty soulful version even by 77-78 standards.

Strong version after slowing down at the start. Punchy vocals and tempo somewhere between the faster '78's and the languid '77s. Maybe they hit the sweet spot here. Lush sounds prevail. Garcia hits some nice notes in a peaky solo and after sings hard.
