Grateful Dead - Promised Land
Below you'll find a user-submitted list of the best Grateful Dead Promised Land.
Soo much energy its both sloppy and tight all at once, again the ripping start does it for me everytime. "Ok here you go, the Grateful Dead"
New #1 version--all time best. This is a stretched-out jam-fest for a song usually given the quick-off. Killer fills from Hornsby. MUST HEAR!
Perfection to end the first set of one of the truly great shows ever. Keith, Bobby, Jerry--the whole crew is in the pocket and rocking it hard.
ken lee of 1970-11-08 archive-fame dubbed it as the show bringing them out of the70s and in the 80s
Superb A+ version from a classic 79 show
Brent is wailing the B3 and the ending crescendo is Allmans-esque with Phil dropping massive bombs. Excellent close to set 1.
A decent Promised Land till the end, when the band just hits another gear completely, kicking off a superb show.
The slower tempo here lets Jerry and Keith stretch out some during their solos.
Both the best and worst version ever. Why? April Fool's gag: Bobby - keys, Brent & Jerry -drums, Billy - bass - Mickey -guitar Phil-vocals
Very Strong vocals by Brent. Bobby forgets some words, but this version is HOT
get the snb betty board. Keith and Jerry really mesh. falling downstairs collapsing at end of song is great . first show of 77.
Final jam here is smoking. Crowd is roaring and the whole band is on fire.
How is this not on here? This version is fire!
