Grateful Dead - Space
Below you'll find a user-submitted list of the best Grateful Dead Space.
More nitrous! A classic space in the world of spaces.
Beautiful spacy bowl of Jerry noodles leading into space. Short, but sweet
Phil and Ned->Space->Wharf Rat->Space-> Possibly the craziest sequence of music they have ever done, wild dreamy and totally goes to outer space.
Phil's Earthquake Space needs to be listed, funny, scary, bizarre. With the Raven space the following night in Baltimore, two great shows in a row.
Space jams from summer '85 are legit
Very beautiful, jazzy Space following a legendary Eyes
Ken Nordine Space - definitely worth a listen.
Phil & Ned: By far the most compact and Space-like. Gargantuan Martian landscapes and insect-shaped UFOs. Sounds like Frippertronics. Heavy stuff.
I have definitetly been know to FFWD through Space on playback, but this one is just beautiful. Starts out very spaced out, then gets blissful.
An intense trip that peaks -- then cascades peacefully into The Wheel
Vince played a beautiful and unusual melodic theme in this version and I simply loved it!
Ripped out of future spacetime and unlike any other from the era. Sounds like they invented MIDI right on stage. Minds forever blown, I'm sure.
Scary freaking version with ghosty Donna wails. Nice transition into a tear-jerking Wharf Rat.
10mins of absolute weirdness. Incorrectly listed as Seastones - but Jerry, Keith and Billy are there with Phil and Ned. An outrageous corker. Scary.
My old cassette had this space listed as "Smoking Craters"... that's about right!
