Grateful Dead - Wharf Rat
Below you'll find a user-submitted list of the best Grateful Dead Wharf Rat.
Most pristine version I've ever heard. So smooth, so clear. Keith leads the way, Jerry brings it home. . Essential for all Wharf Rat fans
First version ever nicely sandwiched between the epic DS, Jerry really belts it out.
One of the best extended intros coming out of space. The whole band is very into it. You even get Phil shushing the crowd during the quiet parts.
grate vocals --- perfect pathos
Perhaps the most distinctive and spacey version they played. Mellow and poignant. My favorite.
Nice DS as the thems transitions into this wharf rat. Nice!
Garcia crushes it! There is a very nice Joani Walker recording of this on LMA...
Great jammed out version. Heady stuff
epic Wharf Rat, also seen on Skull and Roses
This is an amazing version for Phil Lovers. Grab the audience tape, turn it up, and be destroyed by massive Phil Bombs.
Slightly faster with a steady ostinato bass that works beautifully. No dirge, but a thoughtful tale. I hear waves against a wharf at the end.
A stunning final jam, this Wharf Rat is one of my favorites, listen to the final jam. I believe the 3 night Fri, Sat, Sun run has three of the best J
Beautiful version. Must listen.
UJB>Jam>Wharf Rat>Dark Star. The Wharf Rat comes out of a soft, full, thoughtful space - a detour on the journey to the Star.
Jerry's just belting it out and the playing is so powerful. Can't believe it's not already on here.
